Highway 9 Networks is named as a Cool Vendor in the 2023 Gartner

Highway 9 Networks is named as a Cool Vendor in the 2023 Gartner® Cool Vendors™ in Cloud That Drive Business Disruption.

Highway 9 Networks is both humbled and thrilled to be named as a Cool Vendor in the 2023 Gartner® Cool Vendors™ in Cloud That Drive Business Disruption.

This year’s report, authored by analysts Sid Nag, Arun Chandrasekaran, Kevin Ji, and Craig Lowery states that “I&O leaders are increasingly challenged to drive IT modernization by adopting capabilities and technologies such as generative AI, mobile cloud architectures and platform engineering while staying hyperfocused on cost and productivity.”

In our opinion, Gartner recognition of Highway 9 as a Cool Vendor is proof that our platform for creating an enterprise-wide virtual mobile network can address some of the core challenges facing organizations as they try to build out ubiquitous mobile access to distributed applications. These challenges include the difficulty of onboarding a highly heterogeneous portfolio of devices, the difficulty in building or scaling a fabric that could contain thousands of 5G packet cores, and the ability to provide visibility and control of all SIM/eSIM attached devices and users.

Highway 9 provides a unique solution for enterprise users and their cellular devices + machines that allows them to seamlessly create a virtual mobile network, both indoors or out, with stateful mobility across both private and public cells. This is made possible via our full-stack architecture and cloud-based orchestration that can rapidly deploy an end-to-end cellular network fabric across thousands of packet cores and cloud availability zones using a separate control plane – all seamlessly integrated into the enterprise network and IT stack.

We regularly hear from customers that their goal is for all users to ubiquitously access apps and data anywhere — in both their development and production stages. One specific challenge that we hear, and that Gartner notes in the report, is that private 5G is new to the enterprise and there is a lack of developed skills and resourcing for it in many organizations, which could significantly slow down an enterprise-wide design and deployment.

That said, a cloud-based approach to centrally inventorying, getting telemetry, and managing tenants, spectrum, connected devices, radios and more can greatly accelerate 5G deployment and simplify its ongoing operations.

If that sounds interesting, I welcome you to request a design consultation with a Highway 9 architect.
